Turtle-Pac of Australia holds world record for deepest ever recovery of a pipe line off the coast of Misima Island, Papua New Guinea.

Misima Islands gold mine was closed and green policy dictates to return sea bed to original nature.  Pipe line was 1.4 km. Drop off was at 123 metres. Pipe was cut into 300 metre sections. Salvage vessel used 25 x TURTLE-PAC Enclosed 5 Tons lift bags. Single ties secured by ROV to pipe line in darkness. Vertical mode set up.  Compressors inflated bags gradually to lift pipe line sections to surface. Then towed to shore.

Bags were reused for years on multiple salvage and pipe line missions over the years.

TURTLE-PAC’s unique design providing enclosed lift bags with harness net to be able to operate in horizontal mode without any heavy spreader bars.  Alternatively operate as single ties vertical bags.   These features saves procuring parachute bags for vertical lift and enclosed bags for shallow lift and towing.  TURTLE-PAC construction is multi reinforced design resulting in lighter weight bags easier to men handle by boat crew and divers than old style simple heavy fabric lift bag.

Bags being light and compact means airfreight is feasible to reach clients.

TURTLE-PAC’S Aircraft 2500 rescue bag designed to float ditched naval helicopters.

Used by ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY and ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY and other operators.

A2500 are stored on ships or at shore bases.  Naval helicopters fitted on flotation limited to give crew time to exit ditched aircraft. Might last few hours at most before rip off or fail.

If case of ditching other helicopter or crash boat will deploy A2500.  Swimmer are sufficient as A2500 is neutral in water.  Single ties or two ties secured to ditched helicopter strong points.

Long webbing straps can be wrapped around rotor or tail or landing gear.

TURTLE-PAC was born back in 1985 when owner Laszlo Torok found himself in cyclone off the Australian coast in a small yacht HUSSAR.  Capsize and severe damage to yacht almost sunk HUSSAR. Rescue never came. Shore was made with great difficulties.

Laszlo invented the world’s first yacht floatation system in the world in with the mission to “make the ocean a safer place”.  He put his and wife life where his mouth was.

Sailed around the world on a 32 ft yacht for 5 years. NO life raft not even an inflatable dinghy.

No HF radio.   However yacht was fitted with TURTLE-PACs yacht floatation system.

Hitting a whale in 4 metre seas out of Cape Verde almost tested the system. But yachts sturdy hull held water. The story continues till today…

There is nothing ordinary or standard about TURTLE-PAC lift bags.
